A Sunland Renaissance-era rocket battery artillery set featuring a multi-barrel rocket launcher war machine and four individual crew figures, with an optional gabion barricade terrain piece.
The rocket battery is constructed as a wide angled launch frame with multiple rows of large cylindrical rocket tubes bundled together in a stacked grid arrangement on a heavy iron-banded timber frame, mounted on a central pivot column with a large round elevation wheel and a hanging small iron cage lantern and chain detail on either side, all seated on a wide decorative iron-banded chest base with a skull boss relief at the front center and wide curved bracket feet at the corners.
The four crew figures are each wearing a plain padded coat or brigandine jacket with a wide leather belt and heavy boots: a bald bare-headed loader with a short beard and an open-mouthed expression, walking forward in a wide stride with one arm raised gripping a long straight ramrod or sponge staff held vertically and the other arm cradling a large round cannonball at the hip; a helmeted figure wearing a close-fitting round arming cap with cheek guards, standing in a wide stride with both arms gripping a large cylindrical rocket or artillery shell with a pointed conical nose held diagonally across the body at waist height; a heavyset bare-headed captain with a stern scowling expression, standing in a wide planted stance with one arm raised high gripping a short linstock or firing torch with a cylindrical head held aloft and the other arm hanging at the side gripping a wide-brimmed hat with a large feathered plume; and a bearded bare-headed figure wearing a close-fitting round helm, standing in a wide braced stance with both arms raised and both hands pressed flat against the sides of the helm over the ears in a bracing-for-the-blast pose with eyes closed.
The optional gabion barricade terrain piece features two large wicker gabion basket cylinders filled with packed earth with individual wicker weave detailing and upward-pointing stake tops, arranged side by side on a wide flat rectangular base sized for standard 28–32mm scale compatibility.
