Mercenary crossbowmen for late medieval historical tabletop wargaming. Six distinct crossbowmen in kettle hats and bascinets, several with mail aventails, worn over brigandines, padded jacks and short jupons, with a sword or dagger at the belt; the crossbow is sculpted with each figure. Three stand and three kneel or crouch, so a unit forms a front and a rear rank. Each crossbowman comes with a free-standing pavise, the tall shield propped up in front of him, in five designs: blank, diamond, halves, chequered and quarters. Pick one in the Pavise dropdown and every model in the order gets it, or choose Assorted on a set to get a mix of all five. The options sheet in the gallery shows each design. Missile infantry for a Bohemian, German, Polish or Hungarian army of the 1400s to 1430s, Hussite Wars included; the Early 15th Century Mercenary Archers, the Early 15th Century Men-at-Arms and the rest of the Late Medieval Central Europe range fit alongside.

Sold as singles, a complete set of all six, or units of 10 and 20. Each crossbowman is a two-part kit, the figure and his pavise. About 33 to 35 mm tall standing to the top of the helm at 30mm, the original scale, and the pavise stands about 27 mm; each figure suits a 25 mm round base at that scale.
